환난을 당하는 자나 억울하게 학대를 받는 모든 자들은 하나님께 부르짖으라.
그대들은 마음이 강철같이 냉혹한 자들에게서 돌아서서 그대들의 요구를 그대들의 창조주께 아뢰라.
통회하는 마음으로 그분에게 나아가는 자들은 한 사람도 거절당하지 않을 것이다.
진정한 기도는 하나도 허지로 돌아가지 않는다. 하나님께서는 거룩한 찬양대의 우렁찬 찬미 소리 중에서도
가장 연약한 인간의 부르짖는 소리를 들으신다. 우리가 골방에서 우리의 마음의 소원을 쏟아놓을 때나, 길을
가면서 묵묵히 기도할 때에도, 우리가 올리는 기도의 말이 우주의 임금님의 보좌에 상달된다.
이러한 기도가 비록 인간의 귀에는 들리지 않을지라도 그것이 우주의 침묵 속에 사라져 버리지 아니하며
바쁘게 돌아가는 업무 때문에 허지로 돌아가는 일도 없다. 아무것도 심령의 소원을 묵살시킬 수 없다.
심령의 소원은 거리의 소음과 군중의 소요를 벗어나 하늘 조정에 상달된다. 우리는 하나님께 기도하는 것이므로
우리의 기도는 들어 주시는 바 된다.(실물교훈, 173)
“Let all who are afflicted or unjustly used, cry to God. Turn away from those whose hearts are as steel,
and make your requests known to your Maker. Never is one repulsed who comes to Him with a contrite heart.
Not one sincere prayer is lost. Amid the anthems of the celestial choir, God hears the cries of the weakest
human being.
We pour out our heart's desire in our closets, we breathe a prayer as we walk by the way, and our words
reach the throne of the Monarch of the universe. They may be inaudible to any human ear, but they cannot
die away into silence, nor can they be lost through the activities of business that are going on.
Nothing can drown the soul's desire. It rises above the din of the street, above the confusion of the multitude,
to the heavenly courts. It is God to whom we are speaking, and our prayer is heard.”(COL, 174)
